NEWARK, Alameda County — November 4, 2026, 2:07 a.m. election-night snapshot. Two council candidates hold the leading positions in Newark’s race for two available seats. The mayoral ballot lists Michael K. Hannon as the sole named candidate, but official results are still subject to county certification.
Four candidates for two council seats
According to Alameda County’s Unofficial Final Results, posted at 2:07 a.m., Eve Marie Little leads with 4,081 votes (37.63%), followed by Matthew Jorgens with 3,701 (34.12%). Tonya Connolly has 2,603 (24.00%) and Noah Patrick Grushkin has 461 (4.25%). Each voter could vote for no more than two candidates, so candidate percentages refer to votes in this multi-seat contest, not the share of all individual voters.
Mayor: one named candidate
In Newark’s mayoral count, Michael K. Hannon has 6,039 votes, listed as 100.00% of reported candidate votes. This does not imply that 100% of registered residents voted; it reflects the county’s candidate vote table, where Hannon is the only named candidate.
The canvass continues
County officials refer to this release as Unofficial Final Results, meaning it is the last reported election-night count, not a formal certified outcome. Valid outstanding ballots may still be reviewed and added. Readers should watch the county registrar for subsequent updates.
